International Association "EuroGeographics" and the State Committee on Property of the Republic of Belarus will discuss the directions of further cooperation in Minsk
Representatives of EuroGeographics, an association uniting the state geodetic and cartographic services of European countries, will visit the Belarusian capital from 16 to 17 May 2017.
The visit was organized within the framework of the meeting of the XXXVIII session of the Interstate Council for Geodesy, Cartography, Cadastre and Remote Sensing of the Earth of the CIS member states, held on October 18-19, 2016 in Chisinau (Republic of Moldova), an agreement on a meeting between the head of the State Committee on Property Andrey Gaev and the general Secretary and executive director of EuroGeographics, Mick Cory.
Representatives of EuroGeographics, headed by Mick Corey, will visit the State Committee on Property of the Republic of Belarus for the first time. The delegation will also include the manager of EuroGeographics for sales, marketing and business interaction Angela Baker and the manager for membership in EuroGeographics and public relations Patricia Sokakova.
The guests will get acquainted with the system of the State Committee on Property, the directions and results of the activities of subordinate organizations of the State Committee on Property, and present a presentation on the activities of EuroGeographics, its projects, products and services.
EuroGeographics includes over 60 organizations from 46 countries, including the Republic of Belarus represented by the State Committee on Property of the Republic of Belarus.
The main tasks of the International Association "EuroGeographics" are: the development and strengthening of cooperation between the state geodetic and cartographic organizations of European countries; Exchange of experience in organizing and conducting geodetic and cartographic works in the interests of the member states of EuroGeographics; Solution of questions of return of budgetary funds invested in geodesic and cartographic works; And also the solution of questions of preservation of copyright and property right for cartographic works.
The Association was formed in September 2000, during the XXIII General Assembly of CERCO held in Sweden. At a joint meeting of the heads of the state geodetic and cartographic services of the European member states of CERCO and the management of the pan-European organization MEGRIN (multi-purpose network for the development and implementation of pan-European projects in the field of geodesy and cartography), it was decided to dissolve CERCO and MEGRIN and establish a new European association "EuroGeographics".
